This week, Apple is putting the spotlight on keyboard apps. These apps can offer new and interesting typing and communication experiences compared to the standard Apple keyboard on your iPhone or iPad.

  • Grammarly - Grammarly has launched a keyboard app to help everyone with their grammar. With the keyboard active, Grammarly checks your grammar, spelling, and punctuation. The keyboard will also offer synonyms for words that you use often, and will help you improve your vocabulary. Each correction comes with a short explanation for its inclusion so you can understand the mistakes you're making and avoid them in the future. Grammarly makes it clear when your spelling has been autocorrected so you can see if something has been corrected that shouldn't have been. Free- Download Now

  • Fleksy - When it comes to third-party keyboards, Fleksy is a personal favorite of mine. It has great text prediction, to the degree where I don't feel the need to look at the keyboard that often, as well as a slate of features that help you make your keyboard your own. Select from Fleksy's wide catalog of colorful themes to give your typing some flavor, or create your own for a more personal touch. Tap the Fleksy icon at the top of the keyboard to access features like GIF selection, Spotify-powered music sharing, and stickers. Customize Fleksy further by deciding how its extensions should be arranged. Free - Download Now

  • SwiftKey - This popular keyboard places a premium on intelligence, boasting hyper-accurate autocorrect and word prediction. SwiftKey learns how you type to more accurately present upcoming words. The autocorrect is also based on your writing style, hopefully avoiding all of those ducking mistakes you keep sending to your friends. SwiftKey also has a wide set of free themes, including a new one, Nickel X, which blends in perfectly with the iPhone X's new design and also switches between light and dark based on the app you're using.
