In this week's selection of films and shows on Amazon Prime, follow the adventures of a talking garbage truck and his friend, a backhoe loader. A former baseball player in Pittsburgh struggles against demons both external and internal in order to provide for his family. Finally, two young people from different cultures face difficulties as they begin a relationship.
- The Stinky and Dirty Show - Season 2 - Set off once again for a set of adventures with Stinky the garbage truck and his best friend, Dirty the backhoe loader. The two use the resources around themselves to have fun and find answers to the question "What if...?".
- Fences - This film, based on the play of the same name, follows a former baseball player in 1950s Pittsburgh as he tries to provide for his family despite the demands of the world they live in as well as his own deep flaws and pessimism.
- The Big Sick - Kumail, a young comedian from a Muslim family in Chicago, begins a relationship with the non-Muslim woman, despite his parents' attempts to arrange a marriage for him. The film highlights the struggles and culture clashes that the pair experience, and is based on the courtship of writers Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon.
Looking ahead
This week's new additions to Amazon's Prime Video lineup begins with Apocalypse Now, the story of a special forces operator sent into Cambodia to eliminate a rogue commander. In Rocky, a down-on-his-luck boxer gets a shot at making his name in the sport. Finally, check out The Silence of the Lambs, which follows a young FBI agent as she interrogates one serial killer in an effort to find another one, offering up personal details as she does in a game of intellectual cat and mouse.
- Apocalypse Now - In Francis Ford Coppola's Vietnam-era classic, special operations officer is sent into Cambodia to eliminate a special forces commander who has gone rogue and established an army for himself deep in the Cambodian jungle. The mission tests the operative's resolve and his sanity as he meets people along the way that have found themselves drastically changed by the Vietnam War. Arrives December 1.
- Rocky - A struggling boxer gets his shot at making his name in the sport when the current heavyweight champion purposes a stunt that would let a "nobody" become a "somebody". Despite his desperate circumstances, Rocky enters the ring to prove that he's got what it takes to go the distance. Arrives December 1.
- The Silence of the Lambs - In order to hunt down a serial killer, FBI agent Clarice Starling is assigned to interview another notorious serial killer, Hannibal Lecter, for information. As they talk, Starling and Lecter develop mutual fascinations with one another. Arrives December 1.
